Hind Ear are a technicolour rhythm band from Brighton and London. They use guitars, electronics, voices and drums to fuse hearts to feet and headphones to dancefloors. They are influenced by post-filesharing aesthetic promiscuity, from Black Dice to Black Eyes, Chicago House to contemporary R&B, Fleetwood Mac to Jim O’Rourke.
If you’ve heard their hard-shelled and hymnal coconut, then you’ll know this is a band for all of your ears, not just that tiny, magic one hidden round the back. - Pinglewood
Rising from the debris of distorted guitars and ritualised harmonies this Coconut is quickly strapped to the vicious wheel of a pounding drum machine, it’s pastoral beauty barely allowed to peak above the surface before being smacked into something altogether more muscular. Tendons flexed it strides over a ravaged countryside away from the dawn. Halfway there, it turns to glimpse the sun rise behind it before pressing on, bouncing over fields, its giant form casting shadows of cyclopean beauty before it. - 20 Jazz Funk Greats
